A warm workshop table set with paper, twine and finished gifts

Our story

A gift is a sentence you can hold

We began in 2016 with brown paper, a kitchen table, and one badly wrapped box that somehow made a friend cry — happily.

That box taught us something we've built everything on since: people don't remember what they were given nearly as well as they remember feeling thought of. So we stopped asking "what should we sell?" and started asking "what would you want to receive?"

Everything in the shop is chosen with a person in mind. The candles are poured in small batches in Pune. The brass is spun by a family workshop that has been doing it for three generations. The ceramics come from a studio where every mug is a little uneven, on purpose.

Hands tying twine around a wrapped parcel

Small makers, always

We work with independent studios and pay them properly. No factory lines, no rushed batches.

Wrapped by hand

Recycled paper, cotton twine, a sprig of something seasonal. Nothing arrives looking like a parcel.

Your words, kept

Every gift note is copied out in our house hand and tucked in where they'll find it first.
